It was a surprise to many in British and world politics when Britain voted to leave the EU.  The outcome set the global political realm into shock because it was the wrong result.  It wasn’t supposed to happen that way.  Britain had been promised a Referendum a number of times over the years, but it was last year before it became a reality.  Enough people had passed through the education system having been born a citizen of Britain but also of the EU, that the result was thought to be a certainty.  Even now, when we are coming out of Europe, there are people that consider themselves citizens of the EU or Europe above being citizens of Britain.  Others go beyond that claiming to be citizens of the world, and that they can live anywhere with any people.  Quite possibly that is a preparatory stage to the next move, which is the giant political leap for mankind, to make the world One.  One People with One Government, and One World Ruler; the EU having been one small step for man.  It is probable that there will be wars and catastrophes affecting the world for this to advance the globalists cause; much as the EU formed from the ashes of two world wars. It is then that we will see this One World Government advancing like an army on the march, taking on real shape and structure; but the concept and thought processes for this to happen are already in place among those in high political and religious places.  World upheaval will make it easier to manoeuvre the masses into position.  When people are fearful after a calamity, and have already lost the life they knew, they will receive a saviour with open arms.  Other political and religious syncretism and developments must be, and are taking place.  The European project was running into trouble because it had no “soul”.  God was shown the door, and was officially legislated out of the EU.  Jacques Delors, a former president of the EU Commission, warned that without a soul the EU would be in trouble.  He was speaking about spirituality and inner meaning and purpose.  “Europe needs a secular ‘soul’ and the European project is running into trouble through a combination of individualism, globalisation and a lack of interest from national governments.”  At the time, Delors was addressing the European Parliament, Thursday (7 October 2010) to mark the 20th anniversary of the reunification of Germany.

They will learn from their mistake, and so will those that are advocates of One World under man.  They will introduce spirituality to bring salvation to their plans to unite the world under Antichrist, and as a glue to unite and hold humanity together under satanic rule.  It is taking shape, deceptively, just as the EU took shape deceptively, and is still doing so.

Blair

Tony Blair joined others in saying that Britain’s worst mistake of the post-war period British politics was failing to join the EU at its inception.  A rather strange position when you consider that influential people like Jean Monnet were working desperately to keep Britain out of the EU!  Blair has his own reality, and it has been to the detriment of Britain.  Blair is still trying desperately to get back into British politics to push his European agenda.

Thatcher

Various British Prime Ministers were also deceived, and they in turn deceived the British people over the EU—Macmillan, Wilson, Heath, Margaret Thatcher and John Major, to name just a few.  When Thatcher first took over the Tory leadership she made all the right noises about the EU, and willingly chanted the usual mantra.  Why?  She was enthusiastic about Europe because she was naïve; she knew very little about the EU.  After becoming Prime Minister, she was deceived and tricked into accepting a ‘Single European Act’.  In an effort to cover her blunder, she tried to deceive the British people into thinking that the new treaty was really no more than what she wanted – which was primarily the setting up of a ‘single market’.  Thatcher’s army sold it to the people by telling them of the great benefits it would bring to British businesses.  They said nothing of the fact that she had in fact signed into a considerable extension of the Communities supranational powers.  Gradually, Thatcher’s eyes were opened to the true nature of the EU.  When she began to understand, at great cost to herself, she tried to reveal that to others; in her Bruges speech in 1988 for instance.  The result was that she became more isolated from the European ‘partners’, and also from her British colleague’s.  Some might remember her battles with Lawson and Howe over the ERM.  Europe’s web of deception claimed yet another victim at the downfall of Margaret Thatcher.  We read from a wiser, more experienced Margaret Thatcher: “That such an unnecessary and irrational project as building a European superstate was ever embarked on will seem in future years to be perhaps the greatest folly of the modern era.  And that Britain, with traditional strengths and global destiny, should ever have become part of it will appear a political error of the first magnitude.”[i]

In his memoirs, Roy Jenkins admits, that on becoming President of the Commission, he discovered how little he knew about how the Community worked.  Countless other ‘Europhiles’ were the same; when it came to showing any real understanding of the political system they so enthusiastically endorsed and supported, they often displayed how shockingly ill-informed they really were.

During the 1980s and early 1990s the psychological pressure was increased so that the benefits of Britain’s membership of the Community became an article of faith which no rational person could question.  In the world of politics, the media and big business, even, I would suggest, in the Christian religion to a large degree, acceptance of ‘Europe’ had become an unchallenged orthodoxy; and this quasi-religious faith in the EU continues today.  The PC world have created words to put down any opposition to EU membership.  If you speak against homosexuality, you are labelled as homophobic.  If you challenge membership of the EU, you are a Europhobe.  A Christian author discovered the truth of this during an interview this year, after daring to suggest that “Brexit was God’s will.”  He wasn’t exactly thrown out of the studio, but he suffered the wrath of his interviewers.  Judas sold Jesus for financial profit.  Some ministries bargain away the truth of God’s Word since they are dependent upon their audience.  They profit and stay in business from the gifts of others, and if you upset the giver, you stop getting the gifts.  This results in a lot of playing to the audience.  The one that pays the fiddler calls the tune.

Evident at the time of the 1975 referendum, was that through lack of understanding, there developed the orthodoxy that Britain’s involvement in ‘Europe’ was a good thing.  This doctrine filtered through the whole of society and should not be questioned.  We have lost our freedom to think our own thoughts and to form our own opinions; and we have lost the freedom of speech.  That is why there are ‘sides’ in every issue these days.  You are either on the PC side, or you are a weirdo.  True followers of Jesus are becoming the super-weirdos of society.

Let’s look at Joshua for some answers to how this may have come about in the modern Church, and what we can do about it as disciples of Jesus, and as citizens of this nation of Britain.  Please open your bibles at the appropriate verses, and perhaps flesh out my brief comments as you go.

Joshua 3:1-4.  Follow the Lord; journey after Jesus.  Walk in His steps and in His ways.  Show reverence for God.  Be in awe of the Almighty.  Be guided by God’s Spirit—the Church has not journeyed this way before.  Israel’s journey prepared them to enter the Promised Land; we are preparing for the return of the King.  It is imperative we stay close to Him, in and by His Spirit.

Joshua and the people of Israel followed the Ark of the Testimony which contained the Ten Words God had given to Moses.  His Word bridges the gap, the chasm between God and man, particularly so when the Word became flesh and tabernacled amongst us (John 1:14).  God communicated with Moses from “between the keruvim,” the symbol of His presence and throne; a pattern of the Heavenly reality.  The priests, (humans), bore the Ark on their shoulders.  Jesus, (God who became Man), the Great High Priest is the Word of God.  God’s Word is living and active in His people.  Human beings who desire God and choose His way, can do the works that Jesus did, and even greater works (John 14:12).  By His Spirit, His people can bring God’s presence into situations just as the priests bore the Ark on their shoulders.  God led Joshua and the people into the land.

Joshua 5:1-9.  Israel crossed the Jordan River on dry ground, and encamped on the western side.  They were not far from Jericho and the battle they faced.  Britain faces battles with twenty-seven EU leaders; and one-time president of the United States has joined the fray, Barak Obama in support of globalist Macron.  In Obama’s eyes, as with others, Britain leaving the EU is damaging, but a Frexit would be fatal to the EU.  The possibility of France leaving the EU has diminished since they have now elected their new president, Emmanuel Macron, who is pro-EU.  He has an interesting name.  Emmanuel (Immanuel) means, “God with us.”  My suggestion, in this situation, is that if we are to take this as some kind of sign, as some undoubtedly will, we simply understand it as God is in control.  There is possibly another indication or reminder, that a time is drawing near when the man-god, the Antichrist, will be revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:8).

Britain has those that refuse to accept the Referendum decision, and they continue to oppose our choice to leave the EU.  However, the first concern in this article is the opposition by the people of God to the things of God.  We will look at this a little later, and I will probably be castigated for saying such things as I will, but they must be said.

The Israelites, after trekking for forty years, were now in Canaan.  With Jericho in front of them you might have thought that Israel would straight away prepare for battle.

Joshua 5:2-7.  Instead of going straight into warfare, the people of Israel had to get right with God, by performing the rite of circumcision.  Those born in the wilderness since Israel left Egypt had not been circumcised because the commandment of circumcision had fallen into neglect.  Those that had been circumcised forty years previous, as the day of liberation from Egypt drew near, died in the wilderness because they had not obeyed the Lord.  They had remained on the journey but died without entering the Promised Land.  As Psalm 106:24-26 puts it: “They rejected a desirable land and did not believe His word.  They slandered in their tents, they did not listen to the voice of God.  He swore to them to cause them to perish in the wilderness.”  The young men, children of those that had perished on the journey, had grown up, raised by the unfaithful generation that refused to circumcise their children on the eighth day.  The uncircumcised generation of enslavement corresponds to the uncircumcised generation of the wilderness.  And the circumcision of the Exodus is like the circumcision into the entry into Canaan.  In Genesis 17:1-14 there is the Commandment of circumcision.  God speaks to Abraham saying, “I am Almighty God, walk before Me and be pure of heart…”  “… He who remains uncircumcised and does not remove the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from among his people, for he has abrogated My commandment.”

Joshua 5:6-9.  Before moving on any further, and before engaging the enemy even, Israel obeyed God and observed the ancient rite of circumcision: “Their children who were established in their place were therefore circumcised by Joshua… God said: ‘On this day I have rolled off the reproach of Egypt!’  Therefore, they called that place Gilgal until this very day”.  ‘Gilgal’ is a word-play on God’s word.  The Hebrew word galal, “to roll” has a similar sound to ‘Gilgal’.  This might be a new reason for the name of the place, or a renaming of it.  If we look at Deuteronomy 11:30 and Joshua 4:19-20, we see that the place was known by Moses and Joshua.

Joshua 5:10. God had put the fear of Israel into the enemies of Israel so that they had no will to come out and fight against the Israelites.  This gave the Israelites time to carry out the rite of circumcision, and time to recover by God’s hand.  There was another reason to get on with circumcision.  As we have seen already, they crossed the Jordan River on the tenth of the first month (Abib).  That was the day the Passover lamb was to be set aside (Exodus 12:42-51).  The men were circumcised as a symbol of covenant fidelity.  Then the Passover was celebrated on the 14th.  As with circumcision the first Passover was a defining event.  It was a national event.  Each Passover celebration since has been a commemoration.

Let us look now at some of the issues we face as the people of God.  For at least a generation in this nation, the gospel that has been preached has been one of cheap grace and easy believe-ism.  You simply recite a prayer inviting God into your heart, and that makes you a Christian, whether you follow Jesus or not isn’t particularly an issue.  Some preachers will add that you have to mean it when you pray the prayer.  Then we have the prosperity gospel.  Neither of these are the Gospel that was handed down to us by Jesus and His apostles.  There have been those that slandered in their tents, and did not listen to the voice of God; they drew near, but died in the wilderness because they had not obeyed the Lord.  They remained on the journey but died without entering the Promised Land.  Church membership and church attendance have fallen by the wayside.  Church buildings have closed down all over the nation, and some that continue look more like a monument in a graveyard than a place containing the vibrant life of God’s Spirit in His people; a people honouring God with their lives and their lips.  Many churches that are still open don’t have a pastor; with others, it is God’s Word that has fallen into neglect.  It isn’t just the NHS that’s in crisis!  For at least forty years, the Church has birthed a generation of what I describe as wood-burners.  They do not glory in the Cross as Paul did (Galatians 6:14), but trust in their own works and the teaching of man.  The Cross doesn’t feature in their daily life; they simply cut up the Cross and use it in their wood-burners to keep themselves warm and cosy.  That is easy believe-ism; cost-free Christianity.  In Britain and the West, the radical Christianity of the early Church has morphed into an uncircumcised, oversized dance group, dancing to their own tune.  Instead of facing up to the truth and calling on the Lord for mercy, those in leadership stagger on like an alcoholic in denial.  The enemy sees the weakness of the people of God and mocks them, and sneers at them as being irrelevant and useless to society.  The Philistines mocked and challenged the people of God, until a young man named David stepped up to the mark, and the situation rapidly turned around.

An uncircumcised Church is an uncircumcised people.

We don’t appear to preach circumcision in the Church.  I can’t remember when I last heard it mentioned in a sermon, except in the context of ancient Israel.  A great problem in the Church today is that many among the people of God are not circumcised.  God had His ancient people circumcise themselves, and His commandment is adhered to among the Jews today.  The Church, however, prefers cheap grace and easy believe-ism.  The apostle Paul argued that a person is a Jew that is one inwardly (Romans 2:29).  That should give us a clue.

Paul also said, “Was a man already circumcised when he was called?  He should not become uncircumcised.  Was a man still uncircumcised when called?  He should not be circumcised.  Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commandments is what matters.  Each one should remain in the situation he was in when he was called.…” (1 Corinthians 7:18-29).  Further to that, in Galatians 6:15, Paul said, “Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.”  What counts is not the circumcision of the flesh, but the “new creation”.  If the great Apostle to the Gentiles says that circumcision counts for nothing, who am I to say that we should be circumcised?  That’s a fair question.  The circumcision I am speaking of, and what I suggest is missing in many, is the circumcision of the heart.  “No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God” (Romans 2:29) is also what Paul, the Jew taught.  We have, by our unscriptural teaching and evangelism, created a generation of people that are uncircumcised of heart!  Therefore, according to God’s word, they are separated, outside the people of God; perhaps even, because of the teaching they have received and their own lack of study of God’s Word, they are outside the Kingdom without knowing or realising it!  Many will say to Jesus on that day, Lord, Lord….and He will say, “…I never knew you…” (Matthew 7:23).  This has to be addressed and corrected for the Church to be seen, and to be recognised as the true Church and ekklesia of God.  Whether you be President or pauper, it is the new creation that counts and a circumcised heart.  Without the work of the Holy Spirit making you into a new creation, you are not of God.

“The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live” (Deuteronomy 30:6).  What did Jesus say was the greatest commandment?  (Matthew 22:37).  Those that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  The Lord is slow to anger and quick to forgive, and He is giving the Church and Britain a way out of the darkness.  When Israel came up out of the River Jordan into Canaan, everything changed.  They entered into a future with God in their own nation and land.  There was a renewing to take place in their mind-set, and believers in Jesus are to renew their minds – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).  The Church and Britain have a new, God-given opportunity to line up with His purposes.  If we, as a nation, do not choose life now, there will be no going back.  The EU has already legislated God out of their political union, and Britain is heading in the same direction.  The Church needs to return to the Lord, and Britain must return to its Judaeo-Christian heritage, or it will sink.  The question recently posed to both Theresa May and Tim Farron: “Do you believe that homosexual sex is a sin?” will eventually develop into “Do you renounce Christ?” – if we do not take a position of faith now.

A possible feature of Britain’s future could be, that since all religions are the same and lead to the same god, they will be treated the same.  Prince Charles is destined to become king, unless God intervenes and removes him.  Charles wants to be “Defender of Faith”, so that he defends all religions, not just Christianity.  This is a great danger that Britain faces.  Since all religions serve the same god, then they should all join together.  That is the thinking.  The Church must teach the uniqueness of Jesus, and that if one wants to know the Father, one has to go through Jesus, the Son.  There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12).

Blessings and shalom,
