The evidence of the New Testament seems to suggest that Aramaic had replaced Hebrew in everday usage at the time Jesus lived. When Jesus said "Ephratha" and "Eloi, Eloi lama Sabachtani" as quoted in Greek in the Gospels, he was using Aramaic. "Sabachtani" would be "Azabtani" if spoken iin Hebrew. Interestingly one Gospel suggests Jesus called out to His Father using the Hebrew "Eli" rather than "Elohi " or "Eloi" the Aramaic form, but otherwise such evidence as we have suggests Aramaic had supplanted Hebrew!

In an age of competing voices and growing awareness of the Hebraic roots it is now necessary to be absolutely clear what we stand for. We have one abiding ministry aim and that is to glorify God by introducing the wider Church to the Hebraic roots that has been lost to it for centuries and to address the reasons for this historical neglect.

Capital of Israel? Captial of Palestine? Capital of Israel and Palestine? Divided or undivided?

Donald Trump caused a storm when he declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel and promised to move the US Embassy there.  Many in Israel saw it as a recognition that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and should remain undivided and ruled by Israel.  This supports the Jewish people’s 3000 year old connection to this city.  On the other side, the Palestinians saw it as a denial of their demand for a Palestinian State with its capital inJerusalem.  There was a storm of protest across the Arab and Muslim world, and strong messages of disapproval from the UN, EU, Russia, China  and the Vatican.

Do you ever wonder why Jerusalem is such an issue on the world scene?  What is it about this relatively small city in the Judean hills that rouses such passions?

AMONG the most inexplicable developments in this bizarre political year is that Donald Trump is the candidate of choice of many evangelical Christians. Mr. Trump won a plurality of evangelical votes in each of the last three Republican contests, in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. He won the glowing endorsement of Jerry Falwell Jr., the president of Liberty University, who has called him “one of the greatest visionaries of our time.” Last week, Pat Robertson, the founder and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network, told Mr. Trump during an interview, “You inspire us all.”

There's a cloud of confusion out there that is surrounding us all. It affects all of us, wherever we live, whatever our standing in life. It seeps through to us through the mass media, our window to the world, and because the glass has been tainted, we don't see the full picture, just a clever distortion.

Fake news and questionable theologies abound. How can we navigate with confidence? (SWORD COMMUNITY)

For the last few years there has been a service offered by the Saltshakers website that has proven a lifeline for many.

Aligning ourselves to Divine purposes. Is the Church really where it ought to be?

The classic battle of the ages continues to rage on Planet Earth. The forces of evil and darkness that have aligned themselves against “the Lord and his Messiah” continue to engage in a life-or-death struggle with the forces of righteousness and light. Indeed, they have reinforced themselves and redoubled their efforts to prevent the coming of the Messiah and the redemption of the world.

The staggering answer to this two-millennia-old question is even more breathtaking today – so is the question...
