There is a chorus with the words – “Send the fire today!” The words make reference to the beginning of the new creation and the day of Pentecost, when God poured out His Spirit creating the ekklesia of God. The Church today requests a repeat prescription to cure its ills, while bypassing repentance; rather like those that live a Christianity without the Cross.
I wrote this article in February 2016, and am reintroducing it after a question recently posed about the Rapture of the Church. I have corrected the ‘typos’ made the first time round, and have rewritten parts. Just as there is confusion in the nation (some would say, chaos), so there is much confusion in the Church in this nation. This article covers [in part] two popular, but often misunderstood teachings; in doing so, we will visit some of the consequences of misinterpreting God’s word. I have changed the title from “Keeping it Simple” to “The Church & The Rapt
Since the day of prayer for the nation last September, the way of wickedness prevails. At the day of prayer, David Hathaway made a point and prayed that God would raise up someone to stand against the abortion issue in Ireland. Since then, abortion services have become legally available in Ireland. Abortion is permitted during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy, and later in cases where the pregnant woman's life or health is at risk, or in the cases of a fatal foetal abnormality.

A spiritual song that developed during the period of slavery was “Nobody knows the trouble I've seen. Nobody knows but Jesus…” Some might sing, “Nobody knows the trouble I’m in. Nobody knows but Jesus…” The song wasn’t published until 1867, but the words and sentiments were known long before that date. Most of us have both seen and experienced trouble. Perhaps some that have faith are singing about Britain, that “Nobody knows the trouble we’re in…Nobody knows but Jesus!”
We have probably all heard or used the phrase “sold down the river” when speaking of a profound betrayal.
Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
When Britain first, at heaven's command,
Arose from out the azure main,
This was the charter of the land,
And Guardian Angels sang this strain:
The nations not so blest as thee
Must, in their turn, to tyrants fall,
While thou shalt flourish great and free:
The dread and envy of them all.
“His blood is on us and on our children!” (Matthew 27:25) – Is it true, as someone suggested to me, that this curse is upon all Jews for all time? The Bible gives the answer. Jesus was alive at the time this curse was pronounced, and Jesus is a Jew. The disciples were all Jews. When Peter, a Jew, preached (Acts 2:41) about 3000 of his Jewish listeners were baptised ….and were added to the believers that day! Before that event, God’s Spirit was poured out upon the Jewish believers as they were all together in one place (Acts 2:1-4).
I, a man, can be a woman simply by deciding that I am a woman. I, a man, can marry another man without recrimination, because it is legal for me to do so. This oblivion is destroying the foundations not only of society, but civilization itself. Yet, if I want to throw a plastic bottle into the sea, I cannot say that plastic bottle is not a plastic bottle. It is in fact a living, healthy fish that will thrive if it is placed in its natural habitation. A fish doesn’t destroy the environment. A plastic bottle does…therefore a plastic bottle has to remain a p
