Ep. 41: Calling card

MATTHEW 11:2-14, LUKE 7:18-25

John the Baptist, as he suffered in his prison captivity, had to be absolutely sure that Jesus was “the one.” He sent his disciples to ask him directly. So Jesus gave his calling card. The blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the gospel is preached.

His calling card has not changed, it is just we in the West who have changed. I am told that these miracles are still experienced in poorer countries, where reliance on Jesus is absolute. Not so much here, with our reliance on Science in the first instance. Yet he is still as available as he has ever been. Do we have sufficient faith to run with this?
