Ep. 49: Don’t go into the village

MARK 8:22-26

So he healed a blind man in a very unconventional way, involving his own spit. But the key feature of this story was the command that followed the healing, don’t even go into the village.

I am sure that the first thing this man wanted to do was to go into the village and tell everyone. But he was told not to. We are not told whether h complied, so that is not the point of the story. Instead, the point is this; do what he tells you, he knows best. We would do well ourselves to take heed here. Sometimes the obvious course of action is not the way we should follow. Listen … and obey.
