There’s nothing wrong being short, it gave Zacchaeus a very public acceptance from Jesus. It also gave him a chance to show extraordinary hospitality, giving half of his possessions to the poor and repaying those he had cheated … four times the amount!

That is true practical action, as a result of divine favour and this was acknowledged by Jesus, declaring him a lost son of Abraham who has now found his calling. Sometimes we, too, are called to be extraordinarily generous, to go above and beyond what is expected. Is this such a time for you?
