MATTHEW 4:18-22, MARK 1:16-20, LUKE 5:1-11

Jesus had been with his friends for a little time but now he felt that it was time they ‘manned up’ and became more than just friends, but disciples, called out for serious duty. Perhaps he needed to nudge them a bit first so he performed a miracle that was specific to their particular needs first. He rustled up a remarkable catch of fish out of nowhere. It was then that he called them … and they followed.

Sometimes we need a little nudge too. The key thing is to realise when God is nudging, so that we can act accordingly. We need to live our lives with spiritual antennae on constant alert, rather than being dragged into the murkiness of the World and its troubles. Be alert … because He may be calling you to something absolutely incredible!
