This is where the grumbling started, when they started doubting, when they started saying, wait a minute isn’t this the carpenter’s son? They didn’t like the ‘eating of the flesh’ bit, perhaps it was getting a little too weird for them? This is when some of them left him, saying, this is a hard teaching, who can accept it? But not his closest disciples. Peter made this wonderful declaration, Lord, to whom shall we go?

Lord, to whom shall we go? This is still valid for us today, those of us who are occasionally tinged with doubt. If this is you, you are not alone. But look around you … is there really an alternative? Does anything in our current world actually make sense? Just ride it out, you are safe within the bosom of truth that Jesus provides.
