LUKE 17:11-19

The story is that, after Jesus healed ten lepers, the only one who showed any gratitude was a Samaritan, an outsider. So, all ten were healed, yet the Samaritan, after prostrating himself before Jesus, was told ‘Your faith has made you well.’ Interesting. How do we interpret this? Surely he was already healed of leprosy, so what is this new healing? My thoughts are that, through this extra faith he had to return to Jesus and thank him, Jesus healed him in other ways. It didn’t have to be a physical healing, perhaps it was something that he didn’t even know he needed healing for!

So, what can we learn from this? Firstly, gratitude. Sometimes we get so carried away with the healing that we neglect the healer. Secondly, perhaps, there are always things that are not right in our lives, so healing may very well be an ongoing process. So, never turn it down!
